A motorcyclist died in Bellport Wednesday night after hitting a bus and then a Range Rover, Suffolk police said.

The rider was going north on Station Road at a "high rate of speed" when he crashed into an oncoming, private bus that was turning into a bus depot just north of Woodside Avenue, police said.

He hit the tirewell of the bus and crashed into a Range Rover going south on Station Road, police said.

The accident happened at 9:22 p.m., police said.

The man's identity was not released, and police continued to investigate at the scene late Wednesday night.
