A North Babylon motorcyclist was riding on Commack Road when he collided with a 2005 Dodge pickup and was ejected from the bike, Suffolk County police said. (May 2, 2013) Credit: James Carbone

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup truck early Thursday on the border of Commack and Dix Hills, police said.

Anthony Jacovino, 38, of North Babylon, was riding the motorcycle south on Commack Road shortly before 5 a.m. when he collided with a 2005 Dodge pickup heading west on Vanderbilt Parkway, Suffolk police said.

Jacovino, who was knocked off the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The pickup driver, George Custance, 50, of South Plainfield, N.J., was not injured.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252.
