Motorcyclist killed in Deer Park collision

A motorcyclist was killed early Tuesday after he collided with a car at the intersection of Deer Park and Lake avenues in Deer Park, police said.
The crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m. Suffolk County police said the motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released pending notification of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the motorcyclist was westbound on Lake when he was hit by a 2004 Honda Accord traveling south on Deer Park Avenue. That driver, identified by police as Frank Fiore, 42, of Cutchogue, was not injured.
Fiore was not charged in the accident. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
The accident investigation closed southbound Deer Park Avenue at Long Island Avenue for several hours.
Police said that investigation was continuing Tuesday and asked anyone with information about the crash to contact detectives at 631-854-8152.
