Motorcyclist killed in Ronkonkoma collision

A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday when his bike collided with a car in Ronkonkoma, police said.

Anthony LaTorre of Lake Grove was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital about 30 minutes after the accident, Suffolk County police said. Police said the other driver, identified as Annie Vitta, 57, of Holbrook, was taken to Stony Brook with "non-life-threatening injuries."

Police said the crash occurred at 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Pond Road and Express Drive North. LaTorre was headed south on Pond Road, police said, when his motorcycle collided with the 2003 Toyota Camry driven by Vitta.

No charges were filed.
