A 40-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car Monday morning in Smithtown, police said.

Francis Stanuch of Smithtown was ejected from the 2012 Honda motorcycle during the 8:05 a.m. collision at the intersection of Landing Avenue and Oakside Drive, Suffolk County police said.

He was transported to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Stanuch was northbound on Landing Avenue when Eric Gismervik, driving southbound in a 1990 Ford, attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Oakside Drive.

Gismervik was not charged.

Police said the investigation is continuing and asked anyone with information regarding the crash to call Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452.
