Motorcyclist seriously hurt in crash
A motorcyclist was hospitalized in serious condition after he crashed Monday evening into woods off Lake Shore Road in Lake Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County police said.
The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.
Police said the man was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Ronkonkoma Fire Department Ambulance -- and said he was in serious condition with unspecified injuries.
The crash occurred at about 7:50 p.m. near the intersection of Lake Shore Road and Harding Road. Police said the victim apparently lost control of his 1995 Honda, crashing into the wooded area west of the road.
The investigation of the accident is continuing Tuesday.
