A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with another vehicle Wednesday morning in Rocky Point, police said.

Suffolk County police said the crash occurred at the intersection of Ridge Road and Route 25A at 9:20 a.m.

Route 25A in the area was closed in both directions just after 9:30 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation website, informny.com. The road was reopened at 1:16 p.m., police said.

Photographs from the scene showed a mangled motorcycle and a crossover-type vehicle with damage to the left front fender.

The circumstances of the crash were not immediately clear. It also was not clear if any of the injuries were life-threatening.
