Motorcyclist seriously injured in Holbrook crash, cops say
Suffolk County police are investigating a Saturday accident that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Holbrook.
Police said the crash happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. when Jeffrey Montgomery, 24, of Holbrook was riding a 1999 Triumph motorcycle southbound on Coates Avenue and his vehicle struck the right rear wheel of a 2014 Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Benz, driven by Brittany Onorato, was traveling northbound and attempting to make a left turn onto Leonard Street.
Montgomery was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries but Onorato, 28, of Holbrook, was not injured, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. No charges were filed.
