A Huntington man died Wednesday after his car veered into oncoming traffic in West Hills and hit another car, Suffolk police said.

William Holden, 85, was going north on Round Swamp Road near Vannina Place when he crossed Round Swamp Road and hit the car driven by Jodi Knott, 51, of Huntington.

The accident occurred about 3:25 p.m., and Holden was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Knott also was taken to the same hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

Second Precinct detectives ask anyone with information to call 631-854-8252 or to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
