A man was killed by a Long Island Rail Road train Sunday afternoon in East Patchogue, MTA police said.

The accident occurred just before 4 p.m. west of Munsell Road as the eastbound 2:41 p.m. train from Jamaica to Speonk approached the Bellport station.

An Metropolitan Transportation Authority police spokesman said police were investigating and had no other immediate details. The accident briefly caused delays on the Montauk line, but service has now been restored, the spokesman said.
