Museum rejects Babylon offer to buy historic bicycle
By riding a bike behind a speeding Long Island Rail Road train - between Farmingdale and Babylon on specially built wooden track - and covering a mile in 57.8 seconds, winning his nickname.. The bike had been part of a collection that made up the private Indian Motorcycle Museum, also in Springfield. But after that museum closed, the collection was turned over three years ago to the Springfield Museums.
