An East Northport resident has collected a $1 million prize from the New York Lottery’s "$1,000,000 Gold" scratch-off game.

Francis Cangemi received a single lump-sum payment totaling $670,000, after required withholdings. Cangemi purchased the winning ticket at Half Off Cards of Selden, at 49 College Plaza, Lottery officials said on their website.

Half Off Cards took to social media to proclaim the victor's prize, with a banner saying "Top prize winner sold here!"

Three $1 million prizes remain to be claimed on the "$1,000,000 Gold" ticket, which costs $5 to purchase, according to the state's website. Players may check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report here.

New York Lottery scratch-off games generated $4.3 billion in sales during fiscal year 2024-25, according to lottery officials.
