What would you do if you saw the word "jackpot" on your lottery ticket?

"I started screaming," said Tosh Kazdal of Rocky Point. "I screamed so loud I lost my voice!" That's because his was the top prize in the $3,000,000 Frenzy scratch-off game.

Kazdal, who owns a swimming pool business, was among those receiving New York Lottery ceremonial checks Tuesday, totaling $5.5 million.

He said he followed his usual procedure that day, first scanning the ticket's bar code, which told him he was a "big winner." At that point he started scratching the ticket and, shortly after, the screaming began.

Opting to take his $3 million in a lump sum, he's walking away with $1,594,938 after required withholding, the lottery said in a news release.

Kazdal told New York Lottery he hasn't given thought yet as to how to spend the money, but, "I'm just very happy for the win."

Irene Murray, a grandmother in Bay Shore, was in disbelief when she saw she was the top winner in the $2,500 a Week for Life scratch-off game, her son said.

"To be honest, I was in disbelief, too," said her son Robert Murray of Islip, serving as family spokesman.

That translates to $2.5 million, to be taken in a lump sum, which Irene Murray is splitting with her children and grandchildren, the lottery said.

Lottery tickets have often been presents given among the family's members, but this big winner was Murray's random purchase, the lottery said.

Family members have no plans so far for the money, said Robert Murray. "We are all just happy that my mom decided to share this with us out of the goodness of her heart."
