Police: Nicolls Road in Centereach reopens after 6-vehicle crash

Nicolls Road in Centereach has reopened in both directions after a six-vehicle crash Saturday morning.
Suffolk County police got a call about the accident at 6:21 a.m. and closed the northbound and southbound lanes of Nicolls between South Coleman Road and Hammond Road at 6:24 a.m. Authorities reopened the northbound lanes at 8:07 a.m. and reopened the southbound lanes just before 9 a.m.
Police said they didn’t know the cause of the crash, but that there were no serious injuries.
In an advisory at about 6:30 a.m., police said the road was closed because of icy conditions.
