Two westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in the Town of Riverhead will be closed Tuesday night and Thursday for construction work, the state Department of Transportation said Tuesday.

The closures will take place between Exit 71, Edwards Avenue, and Exit 70, the Daniel Hole Road exit, between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

One lane will remain open during that time.

Workers will be performing major repairs to the Halsey Manor Road Bridge, which was recently hit by a truck, according to transportation officials.

The DOT advised motorists that for real-time travel information, they should call 511 or visit 511NY.org. Travel information is also available at informny.com and on hand held devices at informny.mobi .
