'Noncriminal' cause of death for man found in lot

A preliminary investigation has found that a man whose body was discovered in the Suffolk Diner parking lot in Centereach Thursday morning died of "noncriminal" causes, police said.

Suffolk County police said they are not immediately identifying the dead man and said the investigation is continuing.

A 911 call placed at 5:30 a.m. reported the find at the diner on Middle Country Road.

Police said homicide detectives found the man dead.
