All lanes of southbound North Ocean Avenue in Farmingville were reopened at 10:34 a.m. following an early morning accident that left a pickup truck driver seriously injured on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016. Credit: James Carbone

A serious early morning crash closed southbound North Ocean Avenue north of the Long Island Expressway in Farmingville for almost five hours Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the crash, which involved a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer, occurred at 5:43 a.m. and closed all southbound lanes at Horseblock Road. The pickup truck driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the tractor-trailer operator was not injured.

The road was reopened at 10:34 a.m., police said.
