Two people were killed early Sunday in Huntington and two others injured after a single-vehicle crash on the Northern State Parkway, state police said.
The victims who died in the crash were identified as Husein Radoncic, 26, of Queens, and Sasha Stopanjac, 22, of Liberty, officials said. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
They were backseat passengers in a 2001 Audi driven by Tomislav Ivkov, 22, of Queens, state police said. About 1:30 a.m. while in the westbound lane near Exit 39, the Audi left the roadway and struck a guardrail, several trees and a light post, according to the state police. Ivkov and a front seat passenger, Marco Radinovic, 21, also of Queens, were taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The collision is still under investigation and state police ask anyone with any information to call 631-756-3300.
