A Brooklyn man was fatally shot outside a party in Wyandanch early Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.

Edward Louis Ivey Jr., 39, was standing outside 51 W. Booker Ave. about 12:55 a.m. with a large group of people when he was shot once, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later in the morning, beer bottles, yellow police tape and other garbage was packed in clear plastic bags in front of the home where the shooting occurred. The two-story house, on a sprawling property with a large backyard and a pool, is between a church and an industrial yard.

A man ordered a reporter off the property Sunday.

Anyone with information on the slaying can call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
