A Brentwood man has been charged with raping a 16-year-old girl and then throwing her from the roof of a three-story Brooklyn apartment building.
Antonio Owensford, 25, of Speed Street, is the second suspect charged in the attack, which left the teen hospitalized with multiple injuries to her legs, arm and back, the NYPD said Friday.
Owensford is charged with second-degree attempted murder, first- and third-degree rape, first-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.
Police said Owensford and a second suspect, Anwar Desouza, 24, lured the teen to the roof of the building at 4 a.m. on July 14.
The men, police said, then sexually assaulted the girl and tossed her from the roof.
Desouza, who lives in the Miller Avenue building in East New York where the assault occurred, was apprehended earlier Friday and charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sex act, first-degree assault and second-degree strangulation. Desouza pleaded not guilty Saturday and is being held on $250,000 bail, records show.
The Brooklyn district attorney's office said Owensford was to be arraigned Saturday.
Records show Owensford was charged in 2009 in Brooklyn with theft of services, a misdemeanor.
