Official: Man's body found off Montauk Point
The body of a man was pulled from the water four miles south of Montauk Point just before 11 a.m. Saturday, U.S. Coast Guard officials said.
The man was identified as having a shaved head, a goatee and was found wearing clothes and had an iPhone in his pocket, said Petty Officer Matthew Dunn with the U.S. Coast Guard in Montauk. . No additional identifying information was immediately available.
Dunn and a detective from the East Hampton Police Department responded to the 9:22 a.m. call. The call came from a group on the Marlin VI Princess, a charter boat that had been out fishing.
The Suffolk County Medical Examiner and East Hampton police are investigating.
