The driver of a car that overturned on the Long Island Expressway early Thursday morning was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police and fire officials said.

The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office said no one was charged in the crash, which closed three lanes of traffic for cleanup of fluid and debris.

Police said the crash occurred when the car, a Hyundai, collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer truck near Exit 56, Route 111. The car was heavily damaged in the crash.

The truck driver was not injured, officials said.
