Officials: 3 hurt, including firefighter, in Islandia house fire
One firefighter and two civilians were transported to local hospitals with undisclosed injuries after a fire at a home in Islandia on Sunday night, Suffolk County fire officials said.
The fire at the home on Serpentine Lane was reported in a 911 call at 9:22 p.m., fire officials said.
Firefighters from Central Islip, as well as ambulance crews from Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance and three other companies all responded to the scene.
Officials said two people were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital and another to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, but did not provide details. The extent of any injuries were unknown and it also was not known if the civilians were residents of the home.
Officials said the fire marshal is investigating the cause.
