Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that caused “extensive damage” to an auto repair shop and forced the temporary closure of Jericho Turnpike in West Hills.

The blaze at the Auto Fusion repair shop was reported at 8:27 a.m., Suffolk County fire officials said.

Suffolk police said the road was closed eastbound at Oakwood Road and westbound at Jones Lane until 10:12 a.m.

About 60 firefighters from Huntington Manor, Huntington, Halesite, Melville, Greenlawn, Dix Hills and Syosset responded to the scene, as did a crew from Huntington Community First Aid ambulance. There were no reported injuries and the fire was brought under control in about an hour, officials said.

Arson Squad detectives and the Huntington Town fire marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
