Flames destroyed a barn Monday morning in Setauket, but firefighters kept it from spreading to a nearby house, officials said.
The fire was reported at 4:30 a.m. on Ada Lane just off Main Street, Suffolk County Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services said.
“The post and beam barn was fully involved on arrival,” the agency said. “Crews from Stony Brook, Port Jefferson and Terryville assisted Setauket in keeping the flames from spreading to a neighboring house.”
“The fire was brought under control without incident,” the agency said.
