East End fire departments are fighting a blaze that appears to have engulfed the pavilion at Cupsogue Beach County Park in Westhampton, dispatchers from multiple departments said Saturday night.

Suffolk County police received a call reporting the fire at about 8 p.m., and arson squad officers were on their way to investigate, a department spokesman said.

Fire dispatchers said firefighters were still battling the blaze shortly before 10 p.m., and they did not immediately have more information.

Fire departments from Westhampton Beach, Eastport, Hampton Bays and Riverhead were among several that responded.

Cupsogue is a 300-acre county park on a barrier island, at the western end of Dune Road. The pavilion near the parking lot has a concession stand, bathrooms, showers and a first-aid station.

The park also allows camping.
