Officials: Two boats on fire in bay in Greenport

Firefighters were battling a blaze on two boats in a Greenport bay Saturday night, fire officials said.

Greenport firefighters said they sent crews to the fire around 10:30 p.m. at Gull Pond Lane, where one large boat and one smaller boat were burning.

Fire crews from East Marion and Shelter Island, which provided a firefighting boat, responded to the scene, Greenport firefighters said.

The size or type of boats engulfed in flames was not available and no injuries were reported.
