One person was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center with unknown injuries following a two-car crash in Central Islip late Wednesday night, police said.

Suffolk County police said details of the crash were not immediately available Thursday.

Police received a 911 call reporting the crash at 11:16 p.m. The crash occurred on Carleton Avenue near Research Place. It was not immediately clear how many people were involved — or if there were any other injuries sustained.
