One person was transported to a local hospital after a fire Tuesday in Copiague, Suffolk police and fire officials said.

The fire on Shore Drive North was reported in a 911 call at 7:49 a.m., police said.

The condition of the injured person was not immediately known on Tuesday.

Volunteer firefighters from Copiague and Lindenhurst battled the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
