One person was injured in a St. James house fire early Thursday morning, Suffolk County fire officials said.

St. James firefighters responded to a call at 3:26 a.m. about a fire on Nimitz Road, a spokeswoman with the Suffolk County Fire Marshal's Office said. Emergency technicians transported one person to the hospital, said the spokeswoman, who had no updated information on the person's condition.

Stony Brook, Smithtown and Nesconset fire departments also responded, the spokeswoman said.

St. James was among three area fire departments providing backup assistance at a fire on Sunny Road in Nesconset, at about 1:26 a.m.

Also responding were the Nesconset, Centereach and Ronkonkoma fire departments.
