One injured in Islandia crash

At least one person was taken to a local hospital following a Wednesday morning crash between a coach bus and a sport utility vehicle that closed the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and the Motor Parkway in Islandia.
Suffolk County police did not identify the injured, but said one person from the SUV was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.
The extent of the injuries was not known.
The crash occurred at 7:04 a.m., police said.
It was not known if the bus was carrying passengers.
