A school bus and taxi collided in Coram Thursday afternoon, and police said one victim with serious injuries was airlifted to a hospital.

The crash, which happened about 12:45 p.m., shut down Mill Road between Skips Road and Teller Avenue until about 4:20 p.m. as Sixth Precinct detectives investigate, Suffolk County police said.

A Lindy's Taxi was crushed on the right side, resting near a school bus, a photo from the scene shows. There were no children on the bus, police said.

The taxi driver was flown to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

No other details about injuries and the accident were immediately available.

A Lindy's manager was not immediately available Thursday afternoon.

The bus belongs to Baumann & Sons Buses, based in Ronkonkoma. An official there was not immediately available for comment Thursday afternoon.
