At least one person was seriously injured Sunday morning when a car crashed into a pole in Bay Shore, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the car hit the pole around 10 a.m. on the service road of Sunrise Highway in front of the South Shore Mall.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

There was no additional information immediately available Sunday morning.
