Orient woman falls asleep at wheel, hits tree, police say
An Orient woman fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a tree and a fire hydrant on Saturday morning, police said.
Southold Town police said Stephanie A. Wright, 24, was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry on Route 25 near Cases Lane in Cutchogue when she veered off the road about 6:30 a.m.
Cutchogue Rescue took Wright to Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport where she was treated for minor injuries, police said.
Her car was towed from the scene.
