A 57-year-old North Babylon man was in stable condition Sunday after being hit by an sport utility vehicle Saturday night while walking in Deer Park.

Oscar Rivera, 57, was crossing Bay Shore Road at 10:15 p.m. when he was hit by a 2003 GMC Yukon that was traveling west on Bay Shore Road.

Rivera suffered a head injury and was taken by North Babylon Rescue to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Yukon, William Moseley, 59, of Wyandanch, and his female passenger were not injured.

No summonses were issued. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
