Our Brookhaven reporter, Patrick Whittle
What I Cover
Along with my colleague Sophia Chang, I cover the Town of Brookhaven's government and its many communities -- from Lake Ronkonkoma to Manorville and Patchogue to Poquott. If you have a story idea about the town's use of your taxpayer dollars or some new laws approved by a village board, I'd love to hear it. Brookhaven's residents face many pressing issues -- including the future of the Gordon Heights fire district, scientific research at Brookhaven National Lab, and absentee landlords in Mastic -- and I strive to stay on top of them all.
Coming up
I will be tweeting, blogging and writing about the first public hearing on the Carmans River Watershed protection plan, to be held during Tuesday's 5 p.m. town board meeting at Brookhaven Town Hall.
