The Coast Guard said a crew on a routine patrol rescued five people on Saturday from a capsized sailboat near Greenport.

The crew was on patrol at about 2:30 p.m. when they saw the 17-foot vessel capsize and all five people aboard fall into the water. The rescue crew brought them ashore.

No one was hurt.

"It was over and done pretty quick," said a search and rescue controller for the Coast Guard, Pete Winters. "The crew from Station Shinnecock got everyone safely aboard; fortunately they were all wearing their life jackets."

The Coast Guard could not be immediately reached for comment.
