An Islip Terrace woman crossing a Patchogue street was struck by a pickup truck Friday morning and seriously injured, Suffolk police said.

Carol Mignone, 71, was walking eastbound on Main Street at South Ocean Avenue when a 2005 Toyota pickup driven by Abel Ramos made a left from westbound Main Street and hit her, police said.

Mignone sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical but stable condition with head trauma, police said.

Ramos, 38, of Riverhead, stayed at the scene and was not injured, police said.

The Toyota was impounded for a safety check, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
