Pavement buckles on Deer Park Avenue

A "large section" of pavement buckled Monday on Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park, causing Suffolk County police to temporarily close at least one lane so repairs could be made, police said.

At least one lane of the northbound roadway was closed just before 1 p.m. in an area near Fairview and Prairie Drive, and reopened later in the afternoon, police said. Police said it was not clear why the road buckled, but emergency road repair crews were called in.
