A 22-year-old Massapequa man was struck by a car and killed as he walked along Nicolls Road in Holbrook Sunday night, police said.

Edward Fulford was struck by a 2010 Honda Accord driven by Melanie Beczak, 53, of Southampton, as he walked along the northbound roadway near Furrows Road at 9 p.m., Suffolk County police said.

Fulford was transported by the Holbrook Fire Department to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Beczak was not charged, but her vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
