Pedestrian critically hurt in Coram crash
A Coram pedestrian was critically injured Wednesday night after being hit by a car on Route 25, Suffolk police said.
The man, 60, was struck in the middle of the street at about 6:45 p.m. by a westbound Ford Taurus driven by Christina Grigg, 34, of Coram. The accident happened just east of Homestead Drive, police said.
The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center. Grigg was not injured, police said.
The accident closed eastbound Route 25 in that area for more than an hour, authorities said.
No charges have been filed and the car was impounded for a safety check, police said.
