A pedestrian died Friday night after being struck by a vehicle in Bohemia, Suffolk County police said.

The victim, 65, was crossing Johnson Avenue at Frederick Street when he was hit by a southbound Chevrolet Impala about 6:30 p.m., police said.

The county medical examiner’s office pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The Chevrolet’s driver, William Oden, 26, of Islip, was not injured and stayed at the scene. His vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Fifth Precinct detectives were continuing the investigation and asked anyone with information to contact them at 631-854-8552.
