Pedestrian hit by car in Coram dies

A 60-year-old Coram man critically injured after being struck by a car Wednesday night on Route 25 in Coram, has died, Suffolk County police said.
Police have not released the identity of the man, pending notification of next of kin.
Police said the man was walking in the middle of the street when he was struck by a westbound Ford Taurus driven by Christina Grigg, 34, of Coram, at about 6:45 p.m. The accident occurred just east of Homestead Drive, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where he later died, police said Thursday morning.
Grigg was not injured and was not charged.
The accident closed eastbound Route 25 in the area for more than an hour. The investigation remains ongoing.
