Pedestrian hit by car in Stony Brook
Suffolk police said they received a call of a hit-and-run crash that occurred on North Country and Hawkins roads in Stony Brook Saturday afternoon, sending a pedestrian to the hospital.
The crash was called in at 4:52 p.m., Suffolk police said. The pedestrian was sent to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for injuries, police said.
Police did not immediately provide any further information.
North Country Road, headed west, is closed from Hawkins Road to Cedar Street, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
