A Wyandanch woman was seriously injured when police said she was hit by a crossover sport utility vehicle Wednesday morning in Wyandanch.

Suffolk County police said the accident occurred at the intersection of Long Island Avenue and Straight Path at 6:05 a.m.

The pedestrian, identified by police as Jeanmarie Ott, 28, was taken by a crew from the Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp. to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. Police said Ott suffered “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” in the crash.

Police said Ott was walking south on Straight Path and was attempting to cross Long Island Avenue when she was struck by a 2015 Nissan Rogue westbound on Long Island Avenue by Leo Bellotti, 89, of Deer Park. Bellotti was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
