A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a car late Thursday night on Crooked Hill Road in Brentwood, police said.

Suffolk County police said the accident occurred at 11:15 p.m. near Wicks Road not far from the campus of Suffolk Community College. The man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

His condition was not immediately available Friday.

The driver remained at the scene, police said. The investigation is continuing.

The identities of the pedestrian and driver were not released by police.
