Man killed in Sunrise Highway hit-and-run, officials say

A Bellport man walking on a Sunrise Highway entrance ramp died in a hit-and-run collision early Thursday morning, east of the exit for Hospital Road in East Patchogue, officials said.
Joseph Logue, 27, of Carver Boulevard, was pronounced at the scene, Suffolk police said in a statement.
The crash occurred around 5:40 a.m., according to the state transportation website and the police, and closed eastbound lanes for hours.
