Suffolk police detectives are investigating a multiple-vehicle accident in Fort Salonga that killed an unidentified pedestrian Wednesday night, according to a police report.

The man apparently crossed Route 25A near Sunken Meadow Road at approximately 8:40 p.m. and was struck twice by a pair of cars heading westbound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the two vehicles, Tina Frangella of Huntington and Susan Rostkowski of Northport, both stopped after the incident and were interviewed by police. No charges have been filed at this time, police said, and both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
