A North Babylon man was struck and killed by a vehicle in East Farmingdale Monday night, Nov. 7, 2016, Suffolk police said. A North Babylon man was struck and killed by a vehicle in East Farmingdale Monday night, Suffolk police said.

Warren Prochaska, 83, was walking east along Route 109 near the Southern State Parkway when he was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox about 6:30 p.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver, Denise Thomas, 56, of Deer Park, stayed at the scene and was not injured, police said. First Precinct detectives are investigating, but do not suspect any criminality was involved.
