Pedestrian killed in Wading River accident
Riverhead town police are investigating an auto accident that killed a pedestrian Thursday evening in Wading River.
John W. Hyte, 52, of Wading River, was struck by an eastbound 2002 Subaru driven by Anthony Simonetti Jr., 71, of Riverhead, on Route 25A at 5:51 p.m., Riverhead police said. Hyte was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Additional details were not immediately available.
Police are asking anyone who might have witnessed the accident to call detectives at 631-727-4500, ext. 326.
